Lately, I've been kind of struggling with keeping my head up and looking at the world from a positive perspective. It's not an easy world out there, and I figure we can use all the help we can get even if it's something as small as painting your nails or buying flowers.
I have compiled a list of things that I do whenever I get in the dark place or down on myself, that help me get just a little happier and less heavy.
1.) Put on comfy pants
2.) Take off pants (these are almost always unnecessary)
3.) Paint your nails - you'd be surprised how much this makes you feel like you've got your life together.
4.) Solo dance party - I tend to put on whatever cheesy Top 40 song is on the radio and jump around my apartment (sorry neighbors!)
5.) Go buy yourself some fresh flowers - this really brightens me up and it gets me out of my apartment which is sometimes all you need.
6.) Go for a hike - short or long, as long as you're moving and taking in some fresh air.
7.) Talk to someone - luckily my sister begged my parents to have me, so I've got a built in buddy, but everyone needs someone they can vent to sometimes.
