From the Garden — Beginning of April

By Camilla

It's no secret that I miss my Slovenian garden terribly. My sweet mother-in-law is sending me daily pictures of its progress — the daffodils are in bloom, the currant plants are growing their ruffled leaves, and our family over there is busily readying the garden for planting (it looks fantastic!). While I don't have a garden of my own for now, I'm going to go ahead and pretend like I do. My mom and I have some plans for raised beds in her yard and some simple, easy-to-grow vegetables in a few weeks, but even now life is popping up everywhere. It's so uplifting and hopeful. I've got a lot on my mind these days trying to find a job while pregnant, a rental home that we can afford, and growing this cute baby, but a quick stroll through the garden shakes away most of my worries.

These buds are future blueberries! My mom's blueberry bushes are totally covered in pretty pink blossoms. I can't wait. It makes me feel like I'm back in Slovenia a bit. :)

Lilac trees about to burst into blossom! Spring is my favorite.

All the pretty maples are starting to form their delicate leaves. This place is going to be spectacular in a few weeks. I'm glad I'm here to see it.

Interview at The Tree Diaries!

By Camilla

Hey guys! I'm a little late in sharing this with you due to all the chaos in my life recently, but I wanted to make sure you knew about a little interview I did over at my friend Hannah's blog, The Tree Diaries. The interview is all about my Slovenian garden, which I already miss terribly, and the process of turning it from a grassy hill to a thriving, food-producing heaven. It was one of the coolest experiences of my life so far, and I'm so glad I got to share it with Hannah and her readers!

Click here to read the interview, and I'm betting that like me, you're going to become totally hooked on her beautiful blog!

Cheers and happy gardening!
