Happy first of February, friends!
While Kenza recovers from mono (she's doing much better) and Camilla sticks with her daily workout goals over in Slovenia, we thought it sounded like the perfect month for a little health challenge. Kenza can't do strenuous exercise while her spleen recovers and Camilla is sort of dealing with weird aches and pains from running without stretching enough. So naturally, we're unrolling our yoga mats!
So here's the challenge: get on the yoga mat at least 3 times a week. Use whatever yoga resources you have (Camilla loves the Blissology series and pretty much anything from Eoin Finn) and just get in some good stretches, twists, breathing, and moments of peace, even if it's just for 15-20 minutes. Kenza will be taking it easy with recovery yoga as she heals from her sickness and Camilla will be pushing it a bit harder.
Sounds good, right?
In addition to yoga, we're also challenging ourselves to pull oil everyday. This might be hard to accomplish but we're reaching for the moon here and hoping to end up among the stars. Even if we end up only pulling 3-4 times a week, it's better than nothing. We've been curious for quite some time about this Ayurvedic practice and have tried it every now and then. But it's time to finally give it a real effort and check out the results for ourselves. A month of oil pulling for healthy gums!
One last thing — Camilla wrote about her skin issues (thank you to those of you who responded with suggestions!) recently, and we're thinking that it's time to get on some kind of a beauty regimen. The benefits of raw honey (especially Manuka honey) are not lost on us, and very few things feel as good on the skin as a honey facial. So along with yoga and oil pulling, we're adding regular honey facials to our beauty regimens this month! Yay! These can be done daily, so we're going to do them as often as we can. It only takes about 10 minutes a day and is the perfect way to unwind before going to bed.
Join us for any or all of these health challenges! We'd love to have you! We'll keep you updated with our own experiences and we definitely want to hear about yours.
Yay let's go!
