So, I got extensions! It's a little late to announce it (I've had them for about 2 months now) but I wanted to be able to discuss if I liked them, how I wear them and be able to answer questions like an expert, so I waited.
The brand is Hairtalk Hair Extensions and I have tape tab extensions. Meaning they're just two extensions sandwiching my actual hair making it longer and fuller. The tape tabs are discreet and honestly no one can tell I have extensions in, unless you already know my actual hair is about shoulder length at the moment. The philosophy behind Hairtalk is why wait or struggle to grow out your hair when a damage free, super pretty, and easy alternative is right in front of you? Well, I'm an impatient person who flip flops from wanting a bob to mermaid hair so I figured this would be an awesome and challenging experiment.
Their philosophy is simple and can be found on the website: Hairtalk Website
But here's a little sample...
"Salon professionals worldwide are choosing the exclusive ultra-thin adhesive extension system Hairtalk®. The superior quality Remy human hair coupled with Hairtalk’s selection of non-damaging, hypoallergenic adhesive bands result in discreet and comfortable hair extensions that blend flawlessly and invisibly with natural hair."
So, as you can see from the image above, they give you the option of getting the ones rooted all the way to the top. These are the ones I have and I can flip my hair around in tons of different ways and these tape tabs honestly do not show. It's so cool. The texture of the hair is thick and has a natural body wave so with my naturally curly hair they blend really well. I got the 18'-20' long extensions and I adore them.
My routine is as follows:
Wake up - Brush hair, put some oil on the ends, style it for the day. Usually I curl it with a straightening iron or throw some braids in and make it a little more boho. (tutorials to come)
Mid day - Due to the length and nature of the extensions I will probably brush through them again once mid-day just to make sure they don't tangle too much.
Night - If I'm going to bed early then I'll brush my hair once more and throw it in a ponytail braid or pigtail braids so they don't get all messy when I sleep. But if I'm going out I'll do an elaborate hairstyle with braids or a sleek ponytail or even just curled a little more to give it some volume. I absolutely love styling these, they're so fun. It's like my favorite part of the day. But after a night out I still brush them out and braid my hair to prevent any damage.
These are so versatile and I'm having so much fun figuring them out. I seriously recommend this brand of extension. The quality of the hair is really high and they do really care about their customers and will even put you on their Instagram page every once in a while ;). Check it out!
I'm going to do a tutorial in a few days so keep an eye out for it! It'll be the boho braids in the first few photos. I'm excited to do my first tutorial!
